The Universidad Pontificia Católica de Chile has 50 research centers of excellence and 750 research projects in progress. In 2018, 167 students obtained their PhD. In 2019, 143 patents were granted and over 4,000 WoS paper were published.

Role of key people

Dr. N. Escalona  PhD Chemistry, is Associate Professor of engineering faculty and director of the research center “Millennium Nucleus on Catalytic Processes towards Sustainable Chemistry (CSC)” aimed at studying the catalytic transformation of biomass derivatives into value-added.
